As we enter this September, we should prioritize readiness, ensuring that our spiritual and physical lives are in order. Biblically, readiness connotes a state of constant spiritual preparedness, marked by unwavering faith, obedience to God's will, and a life lived in anticipation of Christ's return. This entails cultivating a relationship with God, practicing love and forgiveness, and remaining alert to His promptings and the signs of His coming, rather than focusing on material security.
The purpose of readiness is threefold: to meet Christ, to accomplish God's will, and to be found faithful.
Readiness prepares believers for the Second Coming of Christ, ensuring they can meet Him with a life of faithfulness. It signifies being prepared to serve God in any capacity, whether for a great task or a humble duty, as Holy Spirit leads. By living each day with readiness in mind, believers can be found faithful and ready to hear 'Well done, good and faithful servant' when called home.
✝️BE READY BIBLE SCRIPTURES✝️
Matthew 24:44:"Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect" (KJV). This verse emphasizes being prepared for Jesus' return at any unexpected moment.
Luke 12:35-40: "Be ready and dressed. Have your lights burning... You must be ready also. The Son of Man is coming at a time when you do not think He will come" (NLV). This passage uses the imagery of servants awaiting their master to illustrate the need for continuous readiness.
2 Timothy 4:2: "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction" (NIV). This verse speaks to being prepared to serve and minister the word of God at all times.
Ephesians 6:11, 13: "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes... Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand" (NIV). This passage describes spiritual readiness, equipping believers to withstand spiritual battles.
