WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS…GOD OR MAN?
My beloved Sisters and Brothers, this month focus… think about and reflect on your life in reference to Galatians 1:10…
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Paul made a very strong statement of where his priorities lie. I think this verse didn’t leave any doubt whether or not Paul was devoted to Christ and that everything He did was for the sake of the Gospel.
Christians are to serve and worship God and Him only, but because of false doctrines, professing Christians think they can serve God and the world. Others say they serve God, but they are serving-man, a doctrine that allows one to do different religious acts and say they are serving God.
Paul said, “If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ”. Basically, what he was saying is that either you are a people pleaser or a Christ pleaser, but you can’t be both.
Being led by the opinions of others instead of the Spirit is a sure way to get you out of the will of God. It’s time to turn a deaf ear to those that try to manipulate you into what they think is best and instead listen to the voice of the Lord. As a servant of Christ you can not live your life based on someone else’s thoughts or opinions of you.
So, that leaves us with the question “Are you a people pleaser or God pleaser”? Joshua 24:15 says “then choose today whom you will serve.” (NLT)
Read the Scriptures, study them, examine yourself and see if you have allowed yourself to serve and worship another god other than the God of gods!
