July 2019 Focus

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”  Philippians 4:13NIV

Remember: In God, you are limitless. There is nothing in this world that can restrict you or hold you back. God’s love is infinite, and in His word you will find strength, encouragement, healing, and a second chance at life.

4th of July: Celebrate What It Means to Be an American

"For you have been called to live in freedom...Use your freedom to serve one another in love." Galatians 5:13NLT

When you gather with your family and friends during the 4th take a moment to share and reflect on some freedom quotes — patriotic sentiments from past presidents, beloved writers, and cultural icons. While these quotes are a celebration of our independence, they also serve as a reminder of how fortunate we are to live in this country, and that freedom is a constant work in progress. Some of these thoughts are decades-old, and yet you may find that they're more relevant than ever.

So this Independence Day, take part in all the activities that make the 4th of July incredibly fun and special, including family barbecues, fireworks shows, red, white and blue desserts,  but also reflect on these powerful words of wisdom and remember how wonderful it is to be an American. I hope that feeling stays with you long after the holiday is over. Glory&Praises to our Lord&Savior! Amen!

Condoleezza Rice

"The essence of America — that which really unites us — is not ethnicity, or nationality, or religion. It is an idea — and what an idea it is: that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things. That it doesn't matter where you came from, but where you are going."

Germaine Greer

“Freedom is fragile and must be protected. To sacrifice it, even as a temporary measure, is to betray it.”

Nelson Mandela

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”

John F. Kennedy

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

Harry S. Truman

"America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand."
